Robins Anderson's trip to Pennsylvania
Robin Anderson (4 --- on Patrick Nolan's Tree) has been a wealth of family knowledge about the Patrick Nolan side of the family.  She is the daughter of Harry Nolan (Grandson of Patrick Nolan).  Before I got started on the Nolan genealogy, she had been in contact with 3 --- Charles Nolan (Matthew Nolan's tree) way back.  It was Robin and Charles that discovered the connection between the two families.   Robin and her husband Wade recently traveled back east.  They stop in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to do some research on the family.  It is Robin's second trip back to the Pottsville area.  Her first stop was St. Kieran's Church in Heckscherville.  I gave her a contact name of Bob Mulhall.  One of the few remaining members of the church.  I had talked to him several times in the past.  He is a member of St. Kieran's and helps with maintaining the grounds.  Robin ran into him at the church by a chance of luck.  Bob gave Robin and Wade the VIP tour of the church and area.  Many of the pictures on the website are from Robin.  Robin also visited the Pottsville Historical Society.  We had thought that Patrick and Ellen Nolan were married at St. Vincent's De Paul in Minersville.  Robin discovered that they were married at St. Patrick's in Pottsville.  She obtain their marriage license.  Robin also researched Ellen (O'Neill) Nolan.  Ellen's Mother's name is was Nora.  Ellen had one sister Bridget and two brothers Dennis and Maurice.  Great job Robin.  Thank you.

2nd Lieutenant Patrick Nolan, Co-Pilot B-17 World War II
An interesting story on the irony of war.  In researching my Grandmother side of the family (3 --- Beatrice Crombie).   Her mother was Katherine (Wagner) Crombie born Koblenz, Germany.   She immigrated to the U.S. as a little girl.   Her Grandson 4 --- Patrick Nolan, was the co-pilot of the B-17 photographed on the Helpful Links page.  Patrick flew ten missions before his death on a mission to Germany on December 30th, 1944.  Three of his ten missions he flew, were bombing missions to Koblenz, Germany, his grandmother's home town.

Congratulations!
